Voidsea Propulsion
Over the years of travel in the Voidsea many method of travel had been developed.
Ley Sail
One of the first ways to travel the voidsea is the Ley Sail. Using the skills of Ley Sniffers, these ships catch the ebb and flow of ley energy to sail soundlessly though the void.
Ley Engine
In modern day, the Ley Engine is the most common method for traveling long distances along leylines in the Voidsea. However, Ley Engines have a fraught history as the original version of it would cause damage to the Leyline, much like Workshop machine in the Green Maw in the Rothare canopy. This became such and issue that the Mage Cult Sisters of Jenny spent an era purging Ley Engines from the voidsea.
After much work with the wizards and druids of Andorith a new type of Ley Engine was developed and pushed by Captain-Magus Barthas. With a much more complex system, these new Ley Engines work in harmony with ley energy.
Steam Engine
A engine used with great effect by the Blissovians, this engine runs on massive oven to create steam to propel the ship though the voidsea. Most ships that use steam are low velocity and only used within star systems. However, massive steam voidships (that are around 80% engine) have the power to travel interstellar distances.
Experimental Engines
Some other types of ways to travel the voidsea have been proposed.
Gravity Drive
Implementation of reverse gravity magic to push when an object would usually pull. Has not been implemented outside of testing crafts.
Improbability Drive
Experimental math-based teleportation. Only exists in diagrams and schematics.
