Udakan Valkai

Udakan Valkai was created as a stand-alone game for the Andorith metaverse using a modified variant of the Category:Bottled Cities Game. The tables were used to select topics which were then built upon Atlas-style. This source material is intended for use as an exoplane to Andorith with no explicit connection to it. Udakan Valkai is the primary city on the Udakanian exoplane. Created on 4/14/2023.

Places of Power

The Tower of the 7

Near center of the cities lies The Tower of the 7, which houses the Council of 7, the main place of governance for Udakan Valkai. It houses the main administrations of the 7 master of the city. Masters are like city councilors except each one is responsible for a particular part of the city infrastructure.

From ground floor up to the spire, the sections of the tower or ordered thusly: Dead, Food, Water, Air, Connections, Shelter, Restorations. These levels do not indicate any level of importance, all of these areas are of equal importance to the city.

Each Master's title is simply Master of X, so Master of Water, Master of Food, etc. Each one is elected to serve a term of 7 years, with one election being held each year. Voting is mandatory and easy.

Masters are expected to retire after serving a single term and are responsible for their own upkeep, however, citizens apply to offer voluntary hospitality (food, lodging) to Masters multiple times a week in order to keep the Masters in touch with the people.

The Masters of Water, Food, and Shelter are responsible for providing these basic necessities to the citizens of the city. Master of Air makes sure the air of the city is as clean as it can be, but is more of a scientific administration. Connections is very similar to our Earth side departments of transportation. Master of the Dead is responsible for dealing with the walking dead problem that is indicative to this city, and possibly, plane. The Master of Restoration is responsible for the reclamation and reuse of anything in the city that is past its usefulness as well as restoring the wasteland that lies outside of the city with the goal of expanding the area that can support life.

Soot Court Monastery

This is one of the larger gathering places of The Cenobites of the Soot Court, also known as the Soot Breathers. They are small religious order dedicated to offering their bodies as vehicles for smoke spirits to resign themselves to death. This order predates the current dominant religion of the city. Its cenobites who maintain rigorous physical routines and display a remarkably defined physique compared to the general population make the average citizen uneasy, but they are respected for their mystical and physical power.

Spirit and Ghost magic is sympathetic magic, or imitation magic. Those who look and are powerful are power. Hence why they focus on body building and not powerlifting.

Cenobites and prospective cenobites are an intriguing mix of people who just wanna get jacked, people looking for alternatives to modern religion, and recently mourning people who lost someone to fire or other tragedy and want to pay forward the closure they received from a soot breather.

The temple has the vibe of a gym that has been set up in an ancient temple and feels out of place to someone used to more traditional religions.
