Ironthread

Ironthread is a very fine and soft thread similar to, but somewhat thicker and heavier than, silk. It's created from the very fine fibers derived by pulverizing underwings of the Threadwing Beetle. Ironthread is the main ingredient in weaving ironcloth which has excellent armor qualities (similar to kevlar). It's also used in weaving both fine mist and fish netting. While this material does not take on magic itself, neither does it impart magic resistance. Wizards have been known to weave ironthread, for natural strength and durability, with quality oilthread which can be magically enhanced but has comparatively lower durability, to make Wizard Weave.

Ironthread is a naturally occurring form of polybenzoxazole which has a tensile strength of more than twice that of kevlar.
