Golden Tangler

The golden tangler is a stout, shrub-like flower covered in thick, cascading spines. A single large golden flower grows at its crown. Similar in shape to a bonsai willow, its poisonous spines are coated in a fast-acting neurotoxin.

Maybe the golden tangler is like that poisonous Japanese pufferfish that’s such a delicacy. A highly-trained chef has to remove all those neurotoxic spines *just* *right*. After that you’ve got a prestigious and heavenly meal.

Golden tanglers are traditionally planted in gardens dedicated to the Southern Kingdom's great river goddess, as they are seen as beautiful symbols of life and death.
