Greenwood Dragonfly
The Greenwood Dragonfly is a large insect in excess of 8 feet in body length. Its primary habitat are the Abyssal and Twilight layers rarely venturing above that and only in great need. The Greenwood is famed for its stealth, remarkable for such a large creature. It hunts by perching on branches high above its prey. The body is capable of selective color changing to blend in with its surroundings. Once the prey is marked, it drops down, gliding more than flying to be silent. While the wings are not capable of changing color themselves the segments are translucent but hued with the colors of the lower foliage providing perfect camouflage. Wings from the Greenwood Dragonfly are highly prized by hunters as they both represent prowess in the hunt as well as make striking body and armor ornamentation. The wings provide no benefits beyond the prestige and aesthetics they represent.
