Trembled

"Trembled" is a term for meat butchered according to traditional dietary laws of the Ancient Andorith Church. The process involves open flame.

Until recent times, meat trembling was practiced almost exclusively by Reserve butchers for Reserve residents. The Faith of the Reserve views the Lord and Fire Mistress on equal footing and has preserved the fire rituals of the Ancient Church. Church folk culture in the modern Ominous Mysteries and Sympatrix Adoration denominations kept awareness of trembled meat alive through hymns and stories, but in practice was only taken seriously by unusually dedicated clergy.

However, in recent years trembled meat has gained a reputation for being healthier than secular butchered meat, tastier, and/or sacramental. This sudden rise in popularity has lead to the creation of trembled certification programs and in increased money and power to the Reserve. It has also lead to religiously-questionable new products such as "trembled" cheese.

Trembled meat is sold in the Day Market. Ominous Holy Sacred Notary & Butchery, run by Alinor Helestina, is a particularly popular proprietor of trembled shish kebabs.
