Haku

A large eagle that lives in the Crown. Its sharp talons and cutting beak mean it primarily predates on mammals, birds, and reptiles. It is a particular bane of the Forest Halflings. Wayward halfling children are told that they could be carried off by these birds if they are naughty, but the truth is these large birds care neither about the morality of their prey, nor whether they are a child or adult.

What is it known to do? The babies and juveniles are the most dangerous because they have a halfling-like cunning. As the beasts mature, their size, secondary sex characteristics, mating rituals, and magical side effects cause them to become precipitously less intelligent.
What does it want that causes problems for others? Large territories to hunt as the apex predator. If there's a competitor for prey or mates it will defend strongly.
How big is it? Wingspan of 10 halflings across.
What is its most important defense? Flight and great speed. Passive defense is also it's incredible eyesight.
What is it known for? It's feathers can be harvested for magic, especially for lighter than air magic. The bird is too big to remain aloft by natural means and was created with magical feathers by a long dead wizard.
What is its most common form of attack? Diving out of the sun, talons extended.
Description: Light underside, deep green top side. Big eyes and talons, it's a mega-eagle.
