Starforged Campaign

This is a multi-session Ironsworn Starforged campaign set in the Voidsea surrounding the planet of Andorith. Although using the Starforged rules, it utilizes class and character content created in the game Microscope.

Players:

Chapter 0: Initial Relationships

Connections between Characters

Party Formation Adventure: EB chasing Æchi by a catspaw of a larger entity (such as the Akashics). All become stranded on Haven, have to work together to escape. Æchi is investigating life souls AND listens to dreams so is party to many secrets (subconscious crime confessions, hidden treasures, etc). Grunt quashes beef and negotiates letting the nerds go. Next time they meet it's a transportation gig and a new start.

Æchi (EYE-chi) and Kau'tsu are friends; we talk about theory, dreams, and space.

Mave and EB: Talk about Merc work, Mave is trying to recruit to Abettor's.

Mave and Kau'tsu: Can smell what you're puttin' down in pheromone-town. The roiling big emotions just under the surface!

EB and Grunt: EB initially hired on now a crew member. EB wants to defer to Grunt as ship owner, but has to watch out for him. EB proved to Grunt that a false-commander (The Lope) was a scammer! Shook Grunt's confidence, made EB step up and offer more care/guidance.

EB and Kau'tsu: Ongoing debate about what should drive one to do things. Applied Ethics.

Æchi and Grunt: Pleased by using long-dormant parts of the ship. Fascinated with their intelligence, enjoys sharing dreams. Is there a chance that SOUL SHEATH NOT SEXUAL??? Orcish clan creates a kind of family soul, or extension of family soul that sheathes over other family soul, which for a ghoul means they get a family soul for the first time.

Æchi and EB: Reminds EB of beloved mystic with a connection to Ley. Connect over ley magic. What does EB think about ghouls? Was taught they damage it, not sure now. Engines were top priority, and ghouls were yet another Andorithian invention that hurts ley lines.

Stereotypes We Hold

Mave the dwarf: Uncomfortable with transplanar magic, was raised to only practice magical abstinence or very traditional arcane magic from the reserve.

Electrum Bearing: Ghouls are yet another Andorithian invention that hurts ley lines. But how bad are they really?

Chapter 1: First Steps

The boys are back in town (Gloam), having returned from escorting mining shipments in the Mouth of Bronze and Steel. When we docked, the harbormaster made us wait in a long queue. Upon docking, a medical official greets with questions and suggests we take precautions to avoid rustlung while on the station. Storms preventing medicine arriving from Blissovia means it can become airborne when left untreated. Group goes to Slabh's Stockyard.

Passing through Gloam we see

• Large numbers of hazelnut trees, for making "miner's delight" a quick energy food you can eat in the dark.
• Always hearing the rumbling of the air scrubbers to keep the thin atmosphere in place. Fixing a scrubber, a technician shakes out billows of iron oxide dust into a big wastebin. About a third of people walking by are wearing masks.
• In Slabh's Stockyard you can't see very far because it's so crowded with stuff. Metafingher's normally is constantly rearranging their stuff but today they're in the office. The office itself moves.

Metalfingers is staring off when the party arrives, masked. "Greetings from the void friend Slabh!" Buufpho the beloved dog is sick! Who runs the mining around here? Medusa Mining is a confederation of independents who mine with lasers, which is better for miners but trickier to maintain on the cheap.

We swear on a twisted piece of shrapnel that Grunt uses as the keychain fob for MoB&S. Everyone touches it and swears.

At the community clinic Fletcher Jefferies is aggressively managing a pre-disaster. Kaut'su approaches and nearly gets pulled into Invidine inventorying. Grunt is toddlercore pressing buttons on a the medical screen, accidentally pulling up a shipping manifest that reveals that there is a huge surplus of medicine being delivered to the station each week. Æchi talks sternly to them, pressing them to come clean but they ban us from the clinic. Luckily EB sneaked a data pad while leaving and gives it to Æchi. When Jefferies slams the door the whole station rocks because a leystorm has arrived, theatening the whole station! In order to not get locked down here, we'll need to depart immediately!

Dramatic Escape!

• Kaut'su helps Æchi onto their back so they can gallop.
• EB has to panic-load slugrounds into the bay.
• Grunt does a big dive to slam in the key, and blue traceries slide out of it as the leydrive spools.
• Mave uses her bot to block the docking clamp from arresting the delay.

Do we take an entirely new route or a perilous but known course? Entirely new! Æchi will feel the correct course, Kaut'su will interpret what they share into coursework. Æchi meditates and describes well!
