Fly lace are carnivorous white mushrooms native to the Green Maw. Their name is derived from their above-ground shape's resemblance to broderie anglaise, a lace distinguished by patterns of round or oval eyelets. At dawn and dusk, the mushrooms release a rotting stench that attracts flies. Flies climb through the eyelets, become caught by the mushrooms’ digestive juices, and are devoured.

Fly lace are traditionally planted in gardens dedicated to the Southern Kingdom's great river goddess, as they are seen as beautiful symbols of life and death.
